Originally drawn with pen and ink on paper and painted digitally.

This was originally an Inktober piece inspired by the way the trees bent in the wind the night Hurricane Irma hit Florida. I was well inland, but she was powerful storm.

The sight of power transformers blowing inspired the orange colors here. They made the whole sky glow orange, purple, and white for a few seconds. My father stayed up all night on the porch watching the storm. I was too scared to be outside for long. The sound of trees falling in the woods around the house making loud rumbling thumps scared me inside. By morning she had passed.
